A religious person/creationist does, of course, preach because he/she has no means of defending their thesis other than asking the audience to take his/her statements in faith. I am sure that if a person from the audience wants to test the veracity of Shallit's claims during his talk then Shallit will help him/her find relevant information and repeat any experiment.<br /><br />How different the situation is when a religious person/creationist gives a talk!
