I'll be speaking at the Canadian science fiction & fantasy convention Polaris in Toronto on Saturday, July 16, and you're invited to attend.
My talk is at 1 PM and is entitled "Misinformation Theory: How Creationists Abuse Mathematics" and is described here. It's part of the skeptical track sponsored by the Centre For Inquiry and its Committee for the Advancement of Scientific Skepticism. Three others, including Larry Moran of Sandwalk, will also speak.

Sounds fun :)
It makes me think that perhaps, in your free time, you might be interested in contributing to Skeptics StackExchange, a Q&A site devoted to scientific skepticism.
(In case you never heard of it, StackExchange is a network of Q&A sites on specific topics, with a peculiar reputation score system that encourages good quality in both questions an answers. There are SE sites on mathand TCS as well.)
Looks like a misguided effort to preach a bunch of rehash to the choir. Find a new chord to play.

A scientist does not preach. A religious person/creationist does, of course, preach because he/she has no means of defending their thesis other than asking the audience to take his/her statements in faith. I am sure that if a person from the audience wants to test the veracity of Shallit's claims during his talk then Shallit will help him/her find relevant information and repeat any experiment.
How different the situation is when a religious person/creationist gives a talk! In that case, they do preach and there is nothing that the listener can do in order to test the speaker's claims other than accept them, in faith.
<delurk>Sounds interesting, but there's no way I can make it. Any chance of video or audio available online?</delurk>
